4 billion pictures. 3 days. 2 visitors. 1 city

Last week my mom & sister came down for a visit.
which you know if you follow this blog.

I was so excited because it was the first time my sister and my mother came for an extended period of time
where I actually got to show them around my town.

So I am going to break it down into days.....

Day 1.

These 2 arrived.

&
then we and purchased 2 of these.

Oh how I love thee.
I am so excited to figure out and learn all of the settings on my new camera!
Ahhhh I am so thankful I have great parents who encourage my sister and I to explore our artistic side!
&& who purchased this for my graduation gift! =) It was so worth the wait!

We had an early dinner at

Oh I love this place... it was Courts first experience here and I do believe she will be heading back!

We then mad a quick stop by hobby lobby to pick up some fabric for our craft we had planned for the evening.

We also made our own camera straps =)
This is how mine turned out... (I will be posting a more about that later)
I was very pleased with the result considering this was the first thing I had ever sewn myself without the help of my mema threading the bobbin! haha

Day 2

was a rainy rainy rainy day.
much like day 1.

But we were off to make the best of it!
we went to Ikea and looked around since my parents are planning on redoing the kitchen to get some ideas!

I love Ikea such great price for such great stuff!

after we left ikea I took them to Berkdale Village.
Now I love Berkdale.  I love the area. I love the shops. I love the little town feel it has.
It is near the lake so it is just a great place & I would LOVE to move over that way!

On our way we found this super cute antique shop && being with my sister we HAD to stop in.
There was a lot of really cool things and the store just kept going and going and going.

Berkdale Village

On our way home we saw this rainbow & if you look closely you can see it ends right in the middle of the road! It was soo awesome!

We ended this day by just hanging out and

Day 3

We went downtown Charlotte and took a 4 billion pictures.

we had a great time and I am so glad that my sister chose to spend her spring break with mom and I in Charlotte instead of going somewhere else!

Thanks for a great 3 days!
& my wonderful new camera that I am working hard to figure out!

March 3, 2011

my right now obsession.

So there is this thing... that I have been wanting for a R E A L L Y long time.

You know... nothing big or anything...

except... well it kinda is!

Next week my sister and I are getting our NEW CAMERA'S!!!!!!

I love to take pictures!
But because I have a broken point and shoot & for the last 2 semesters of school I was loaded down with the max number of credit hours... My picture taking had been cut to a minimum
But now that I am not working and going to school I am SO excited to pick back up where i left off!

This is what I asked for for my graduation gift from my parents.
&&
Since my diploma is now sign sealed and delivered
ITS ABOUT THAT TIME!

Now When i was in high school (Freshman year) I asked for a camera for Christmas... I wanted a 35mm so bad I couldn't stand it.

So having the awesome parents I have.... this is what I got!

Canon EOS Rebel GII 35mm SLR Camera Kit w/ EF 35-80mm Lens

I love this camera and will forever love it because this was my FIRST camera I ever called my own.

I will always keep this camera because this was the start of me taking pictures!

It is awesome and I still use it from time to time. But the one major downfall is I have to buy film and then pay to get it developed so after a while it gets kinda pricey.

But sometimes you just cant beat a 35mm picture!

Moving along.....

Soooo since I am getting a new camera, who's identity will remain disclosed until it gets into my grateful hands
camera strap covers

have became my right now obsession.

I have been looking at them all day.... well ever since I told my mom and sister I had made my mind up as to which camera I felt was the one.

I texted my sister with the GREAT idea of .......
making our own!!!

I found this website.... and I am SOOO excited about it!

I cannot wait to go to hobby lobby and pick out some awesome fabric.

5 things i wish i could do...

My sister posted 5 things she wishes she could do in her blog today.
So i decided to do the same.

1. Sing--I loveeee to sing.... but.... i cant.  So it makes it miserable for ALL of those around me when i do.
which is kind of a lot.
So. I realllyyy reallyyy wish I could sing!

2. play the piano-- I'm not really sure why... But I have Always wanted to know how to play!  It is something that Ive just always thought was so amazing.
The sound of a piano..... there is just something calming about it.

3.  play the guitar-- I asked for a guitar when I was little but i  never went through with the lessons from my grandma.  My mom's side of the family is amazingly gifted with musical talents.
Which just so happened to skip out on us.

Instead we were graced with the athletic talents. Which I wouldn't trade for anything!!!

4.  Have a piece of art that is so amazing that it would be displayed in a Art Museum
.

I love art.
I love that it is so open ended.
Different people see different things.
& it is so awesome to see and hear what others see in the same picture.

I love to draw, to paint & to take pictures.
I just love art.
period.

5.  Sew-- I would love to be able to make things myself.  I see all of the things my grandma made for all of us and it just makes me want to be able to do the same thing.  It makes things so much more meaningful when someone takes the time out of their day to make something special for you.

So now ill ask.....

What are 5 things you wish you could do??

apologies and lots of movies

Hello all.
Well its official I'm an awful blogger.
These past few weeks have been really busy and with adjusting to a new work schedule.
Blogging hasn't been on the top of my priority list..

So i am sorry for being so absent !
Now that I am adjusting and getting in the swing of things i am going to try my hardest to actually do this blogging thing.

My sister is kicking my butt at it right now.

The other day I was talking to my sister on the phone and telling her about some movies I saw on Netflix and how I have probably seen them a billion times in my life i can still sit down and watch them from the beginning to the end.

So... All time favorite movie as a kid...

you're killing me smalls !!!!

Seriously how can you not just LOVE this movie.
My brother, sister and I have all watched this movie to many times to even count on our fingers and toes all combined.

Next is another movie about sports (go figure) that my sister, dad and I always watched together.
and Oh my word I still get excited when I see it on the movie channels.

There's no crying in baseball!

I know we love this movie so much because for so long softball was our life.
and by our life i mean EVERY ONES life, even if Ry wasn't to happy about it.
but hey he was surrounded by beautiful girls all the time... girls that were not his sisters.

And since I am on a sports movie kick i might as well throw in this one.....

You think I'd go hoarse for a player with no potential? When I ignore you... then you worry

Now I did not play much basketball.... But for some reason I loved this movie.
and Still do!

Next

You can never go wrong with this movie....

Would you stop thinking about what everyone wants?
Stop thinking about what I want, what he wants, what your parents want.
What do YOU want? What do you WANT?

or this one for that matter.....

Oh my God! Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God! Top Kat!
Ooooh! Where the bloody hell have you been? I have gynaecologists that call more often.

both of these are love stories but are also very different!
I LOVE THEM
These are lazy sunday afternoon movies
or lazy rainy day movies!

Ok......next

If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you.
But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.

I saw this movie in the theater.
&
I fell in love with it!
It is such a good movie.
thought it is scary that things like this actually happen in real life (the human trafficking)
this movie kept my attention and had me on the end of my seat the ENTIRE movie.
I love those kind!

next

smooth as a baby's butt.....

I love will smith.
&
I love martin lawrance
So to have them both in a movie, and a funny one at that.
ohh how can you not love it!

What are you talking about? I'm fine. Never been Greener

I just recently watched this.
And thought it was hilarious!
Now the language is really bad.
But I thought it was so funny.
Funny enough I thought my dad should see it.
and he liked it too!
This movie has a TON of funny people in it!
and i think James marsden is well...... Verrryyy nice to look at!
not to mention he is hilarious too!

Now I am not much of a will ferrell fan.
I know I know most people love him.
but me not so much!
&
To be honest I cannot think of one movie that he is in that I liked....

BUT..... i do love to watch these guys!

I apologize to you if I don't seem real eager to jump into a forced awkward intimate situation that people like to call dating. I don't like the feeling. You're sitting there you're wondering "Do I have food on my face? Am I eating? Am I talking too much? Are they talking enough? Am I interested? I'm not really interested. Should I play like I'm interested? But I'm not that interested, but I think she might be interested. But do I want to be interested, but now she's not interested, so now all of a sudden I'm getting--I'm started to get interested." And when am I supposed to kiss her? Do I have to wait for the door 'cause then it's awkward? It's like, well, "Goodnight. Do you do like the ass-out hug? Where you like, you hug each other like this and the ass sticks out because you're trying not to get too close or just go right in and kiss them on the lips or don't kiss them at all?" It's very difficult trying to read the situation. And all the while your just really want to know are we going to get hopped up enough to make some bad decisions.

I am a HUGE Fan of these two!
I love just about all of their movies!
But seriously you cant go wrong with vince vaughn
I just love to hear him talk in that fast & crazy voice he has!
They are both just so dang funny!!

And last but not least.....

What are you in here for? Murder, same as you. Innocent? Only guilty man in Shawshank....

This one ranks up there as one of my favorite movies of all times.
I remember watching this when I was younger... well sneaking in the living room to watch it because I was still really young when it came out.
I enjoy most movies with Morgan freeman.. he has such a great narrator's voice!
and he is dang good at acting as well!

But anyway.... this post ended up being A LOT  longer than I thought it was going to be.....

Do you like any of these movies???

What are your favorites??

Please do share!
